BBQ is always on point. Mac n cheese and fried okra are amazing. Pickle fries are delicious. Best BBQ place to order from.

This was my first time back in Durham in 20 years, and my fond memories on flavorful slow cooked pulled pork sandwiches with coke slaw and vinegar sauce had my taste buds watering as soon as I checked into my hotel.  Downtown Durham has certainly changed tremendously, and unfortunately this version of the classic NC pulled pork sandwich was only a shell of the mouth-watering delight I remembered.  The portions were quite plentiful, but the flavor was somewhat lacking.  The same was true of the smoked wings and spare ribs.  (If I didn't know better, I might have thought the ribs had been par-boiled to speed up the cooking process... but that would be absolute blasphemy in these parts.). No seasoning, marinade, or dry rub was used on the chicken wings or pork meats that I could detect,  as they were rather bland without adding sauce.  The collard greens, baked beans, and string beans were decent, but nothing to write home about.  Either my fond memories have been overly exaggerated by the passage of time, or sadly NC BBQ ain't what it used to be... At least not at the Blue Note Grille.

I have order several times from Blue Note and have been satisfied with the quality nod the meal.  My order on 11/4/22 was BELOW standard. The ribs were over cooked and tough. Not to mention the greens and Mac n cheese did not compare to previous orders. I'm considering finding another rib restaurant. I'm disappointed with the Blue Note Grill!!!!

They were patient with me as I navigated order delivery.  Lunch was great, except for the bread pudding.  It wasn't very good (it was hard) and the portion was shockingly small.

Everything was pretty cold. Still decent (very basic) flavors and proper sauces and utensils were provided. If you don't like celery, avoid the coleslaw. We will dine in from now on.
